01Competition Taolu

The performance discipline of wushu.

Taolu is the forms branch of wushu: choreographed solo routines, barehand or with weapons, performed on a spring floor and judged on power, precision, flexibility, rhythm, difficulty, and expression. It is not sparring. It is athletic performance with an international competition structure.

02Selection

Coach-selected. Not sign-up.

Competition Team is by coach recommendation. Coaches watch for technical readiness, consistency, and attitude in regular classes, then invite students who are ready for a more focused environment with higher expectations and a plan built around their strengths.

03Who joins

Built on at least a year of foundations.

Most team members train in our general curriculum for a year or more first. Stances, kicks, jumps, flexibility, and forms memory come before competition routines. When those foundations are solid, a coach recommends the move.

04The circuit

Local. National. International.

The team competes on a real circuit. First local and regional tournaments, then national championships against the widest domestic field, and for athletes who stay the course, international events.

Wushu trains explosive power, flexibility, balance, and precision at once, and asks athletes to perform alone in front of judges. The discipline, goal-setting, and composure it demands carry into school, leadership, and life.

08Students 12 and up

A résumé-builder path that starts in middle school.

For students 12 and up, Competition Team is a clear résumé-builder path. It starts in middle school, runs through national events, and most athletes who stay with it gain international recognition before they graduate. Few high-school sports can put that on a college application.
